Fulfilling a bucket list dream at the heart of the South DownsOn the hottest day since the Summer of 76, I fulfilled a bucket list dream and headed down to the glorious countryside surroundings of Glyndebourne to see Brett Dean’s Hamlet, starring the fabulous tenor Allan Clayton.
With enough homemade savouries to feed the 5000, prosecco and Fortnum’s finest wine – we set up our picnic and took some shade next to the dreamy lake which was almost tempting enough to take a dip in!
The Opera was just sublime, every single cast member exceeded expectations. Sat two rows from the orchestra pit, I was in awe of the London Philharmonic Orchestra, under baton of Vladimir Jurowski. The whole production was gripping, moving, the composition mind-blowing.
You can watch Hamlet following the link below until Thursday 13 July.
