Situated in the middle of absolutely nowhere, this idyllic little historic town is a perfect weekend getaway. This was my third stay at the Quay Hotel and it was unforgettable. The hotel can regularly be found on Secret Escapes/ in the pages of The Telegraph Travel section, however – the hotel itself offers some pretty nifty deals. This one was a stay in their luxury suite, breakfast and dinner inclusive for three nights, expensive yes but compared to the hiked up prices of hotels of similar quality in central London this was worth every penny!
On this occasion I accompanied my wonderful Grandma – the room suited our needs perfectly with an ensuite for her and a huge lounge with a second double bed complete with dining table, coffee machine, 2 sofas and ample space to relax. The room stepped out onto a private garden looking out onto the estuary and marina.
Our day began with a traditional welsh breakfast, followed by a wonder round the classic seaside town of Llandudno! In the afternoon we lazed on the sofa, took a nap, watched Wimbledon. A pre-dinner swim and sauna freshened me up for one of the best meals I have ever tasted! All locally sourced, organic produce – impeccable service and top notch presentation… I loved the dessert so much I ordered the same one twice!
After dinner we headed out onto the bustling terrace to watch a stunning sunset over the estuary with a glass of prosecco.
This is truly the creme de la creme of North Wales!
